Update magazine is the semi-annual publication for the alumni of the A.Q. Miller School of Journalism and Mass Communications. Each semester the magazine is sent to nearly 6,000 alumni and friends of the school. The fall 2007 edition of the magazine and Web site are produced by 20 journalism students, one graduate assistant, and one faculty member.

Kansas State established the first printing program in the United States in 1874. The school was re-named for A.Q. Miller, who was a pioneer Kansas journalist, in 1989. It has approximately 650 students, and six official student organizations.
